It has been a goddamn crazy day.
Picture it. Pennsylvania, 2016.
We were sitting in third period, doing our research papers. Normal day.
Cue fire drill.
"All students report to the football field." (Which was weird, because we usually go to the student parking lot.)
I knew something was up when we were outside for fifteen minutes. But I dismissed it as some idiot blowing up the microwave in the chem lab or something. So, kids being kids, we all started horsing around, having fun.
Nobody knew what was going on, or that there was even a reason to question it.
We stood outside in the cold for an hour and a half. Buses pulled up. Teachers started to panic. "Two or three to a seat. Quickly."
"What the fuck is going on?"
"We're evacuating. There's a bomb."
Somebody put a bomb in the girl's bathroom, and supposedly hid another somewhere else. It was set to go off some time during the school day.
I used that bathroom this morning. I could have died.
Nobody was hurt, thank whatever deity, but... It's still a terrifying situation.
